Fondue in Geneva

I have some Australian friends passing through Geneva next week and they insist on going for  the full authentic fondue experience. They are also insisting on paying, and being from Aus are probably not used to Swiss prices. So where would people recommend that's fun, tasty and won't break the bank, please? Oh and extra points if the service is good.... ok it's switzerland...I'll settle for average :-)

thanks, Bruce

Ah, something else that could be funny for tourists for a fondue: Edelweiss, in paquis (at Place de la Navigation), where you got waiters in traditional old swiss clothes, "cor des alpes", etc.

Or you got also "La Cave Valaisanne", in Plainpalais.

Cafe du Solei is a real must for fondue. Edelweiss is another authentic place with a good atmosphere although a bit more expensive. I have aslo tested la Cave Valaisanne.. Three good bets. Enjoy your fondue!

La Cave Valaisanne in Paquis allows you to enjoy both fondue and raclette... It's actually the only place in Geneva that does that! For foreign visitors it is a must that they compare the two specialties!!!
