Swiss gave figures of fatalities running at 3.3%
I have to admit that I do not accept this figure. If you look at today's figures there have been 6'525 deaths and 77'778 recovered

According to my calculations that is 8.4%
In overall global figures this is not high but the pyramid type of growth from contamination is astronomical. However looking at the progress in China the number of new cases, the rate has slowed down tremendously and and it would appear that the policy of quarantine is working
Wahing hands is a must. If you are in good health normally, you must be able to hold your breath for 10 seconds without coughing. If you cannot this could mean that the virus is already affecting your lungs. I travelled by train yesterday (try getting out of the WC, having washed you handsjust using your elbows), and noted that some people are being especially careful. Covering their figure before pressing the open door button. Disposable plastic gloves are a good idea when moving about in places where you might touch hand rails (getting on and off buses for instance, picking up baskets in supermarkets) - in such cases you can take them off and out them on again so long as you do not turn them inside out.
There are plenty of government sites with advice on htem. The above is just an example of what I personally am doing and is not related to any medical knowledge.
I and all other mountain leaders in Geneve Rando and the Swiss Alpine Club have cancelled all organised excursions until further noptice (and this even includes outings in Geneva canton). Personally I think this is going a little too far but we have a responsibility with regard to safety of our members.
