Hello all, this is both a question and a suggestion...

As there are so many people who come to Geneva/Switwerland who end up having to buy a fair amount of random stuff - is there some form of club whereby all of the people who wish to purchase similar goods (which is fairly likely in an expat type scenario) club together to negotiate a better discount/rate with a supplier/shop. As an example, I know about 5 people who are thinking of buying bikes so if there were more people who also wanted to get a bike we could approach a dealer or shop and negotiate a discount of say 20% if 8-10 people get a bike where the average price is say around 1000 franks.

We could also say that the person who negotiates the discount gets 10% of the net saving. This would work in everyones interest as it would motivate whomever is negotiating to find the best price. I would be happy to start the club myself but do not really have the French skills or the time to get involved in the negotiations.

Let me know if this idea is already up and running or if you are interested either as a buyer or as a negotiator and we can look at getting the ball rolling...
