Germany team: wow! (World Cup)

I'm not a huge football fan, but even I was amazes at how good the German team is this year. And the 4-0 over Argentina was a demo of great football.

Hope the German team continues to give such good football, and congrats to all Germans!

I'm not a huge football fan either but it was really nice watching a true TEAM play..and win!  No bigshot hot-headed me, me, me egos, just plain and simple teamwork. Brilliant! I look forward to the semi's on Wednesday.

i would like to know what the aliens, with their infinite intelligence and technology, think about allowing referees to make decisions based upon replays. and about whether they should bring back the golden goal in international tournaments.

Thanks :-)

Looks like a Germany vs. Netherlands final could occur!

That is on old love-hate relation and will for sure be an interesting final.

Nevertheless sad that the Brazilians are already out...

I am a huge football fan and it does not surprise me too much that Germany is winning . Gary Linecker told already that football is a game of 22 people playing for 90 min and in the end Germany wins - what he did not foresee and is in fact even surprising for the Germans is the fact that we are now even able to win with style. We hope this dream will continue to the end. But whatever will happen on Wednesday, we had a very nice fairy tale and that is all we need sometimes - a thing to believe in. Auf geht's Schland!

Hi Nir - thanks for the congratulations! After my Swiss colleagues at work asked why we (the Germans in my office) did not put up a German flag, we did. Now, if this isn't a small miracle Müller, Özil, Friedrich and all of them worked :-))

Unfortunately for Germany, Paul the psychic octopus has predicted that Spain will be victorious in their game. Is this the end of the road? Or could the infallible Paul be wrong this time?

The octopus is never wrong. However, there is a consolation prize for all male Germany fans. The football fan from Paraguay, Larissa Riquelme, now famous for her outfits and strategic positioning of her Nokia phone, announced before the tournament that she would walk naked (except for body paint of her country's flag) through the streets of Asuncion if team Paraguay were to win the tournament. After Paraguay was defeated by Spain, however, she kept her resolve to strip, and now promised to do the same if Spain were to win the world cup.

Upon hearing this news, millions of men around the world suddenly started to cheer for Spain...

(And many are glad Argentina is out, since Maradona had promised to do the same.)

Very true Jouni, both on the Octopus and on the lady.

But seriously: well done to the German team for making it to the half finals in such a strong way. You guys played excellent.

Now back to the lady in question: I did a Google Image search on her, inspirted by your post, and there's a ton of semi-porn pics of her. Seems the football is just an excuse for her to take the clothes off, but I ain't complaining at all!

Here's more of the lady:

What is really remarkable by the way is that the Swiss national team managed to defeat Spain!
