Getting fingerprinted in Geneva?

I will be starting a job soon that requires me to be fingerprinted first. I have a US government form that it has to be done on. Does anyone know where I could go in Geneva to have this done?

You might want to contact the U.S. Citizen's Services either in the U.S. Embassy in Bern or try the Consular Office in the U.S. Mission in Geneva.  Call first to make sure

7, rue François Versonnex

1207 Geneva

Tel. 022 840 5160 for appointment

I called the Consular Office here in Geneva and they don't provide fingerprinting services.

In the States you can go into any police station and get it done.  The questions are: 1. Will the Swiss police be willing to do this for you, and 2. Will a form signed on by Swiss police be acceptible when you submit it.

You might have to go to the embassy in Bern and visit the American Citizen Services office.

Unfortunately it's not that easy in the US. I was there for a few days in early September and called police stations in 4 different cities. None would do it without proof that I was living in that city.

Fortunately you can get it done here and I figured I would post this in case anyone else is searching for this in the future. The VHP Police Judiciaire (17-19 Boulevard Carl-Vogt, 1205 Geneve) provides fingerprinting services. You need to make an appointment in advance (022 427 7485) and must bring your passport and 50CHF in cash to the appointment.

Of course getting this information involved calls to 3 different police offices, finally being told I could show up at the Nouvel Hotel de Police in Acacias to have it done, then being told the correct information upon arrival.

Hello Daniel,

Waiver: I am no expert in this...

Maybe: If this doesn't require digital fingerprinting, maybe you can get some black/blue ink and do the fingerprinting yourself after a test on a white paper? A friend can help press the fingers properly.

Good luck,

Hi there. I know this is an old post but I was wondering if you knew, if minors (under 18) need to be fingerprinted for the B permit?

I don’t know the answer to your question but I do know that the Office de la Population has finger-printing equipment and qualified staff operating it.

So why not call the Office to inquire?
