I have noticed that there are various "laws" that describe certain aspects of Internet Forums, such as the famous Godwin's Law.
However I believe that there is an all encompassing Law that covers the whole birth, life and death of a typical Glocal Forum topic. I would like to set this out, and would be interested if anyone can enlighten me as to why, and also I would love to know of any obvious amendments to this Law.
Glocals Law states that on any given topic, apart from some extremely mundane practical or technical ones,( exception 1 perhaps?), the thread will follow the following pre-ordained pattern. A subject is proposed, followed by some well meaning and diverse comments from a random selection of members. At this point some personal insult , real or perceived, will crop up, and lead to some barely disguised mud slinging. Following this, our trusty side admin will lay down the law with either polite threats of banishment or some well chosen and calming words. This will lead to some apologetic posts and as we approach the end gane, the Glocal Forum Superstars will congregate and swap several obscure in jokes, which will cause the Forum to slowly die.
