I'm in New York City these next few weeks on a short-term contract, and don't know too many people here - Does anyone know of a network similar to Glocals in NY, for meeting new people?
thanks!

Check up www.meetup.com . It's one the better network I know of for doing real-life activities with real people, and they're real strong in NYC. I love about them that their focus is all about 'let's use the web to get off the web and to meet real people', a lot like glocals.
Enjoy the big apple!

I lived in NY for a long time, and have some good friends living there.
If you're interested, send me a message and Ill give you a couple of names. Just good people that live and work in the city, are very social (they usualy go out for drinks or dinner at least 4-5 times a week) few times a week, and would be happy to have you hang out with them.

A word of warning when you sign up for Internations.org. They don't give you an option to opt-out of messages from their "Community Leader". It became such a nuisance to get "private messaged" with so many unrelated events and promotions. So, I cancelled my subscription with Internations.org after 3 weeks.
