Glocals photos vs Facebook photos?

Is it just me.....

OR

Does anyone else wonder why you would go on a Glocals hike, then come home and spend time posting your photos on Faceache on the "Glocals Hikers" Group and not on Glocals itself?.

I'm probably being pedantic here, but it wasn't a "Facebook Hike" - it was a "Glocals Hike".

In my experience, people on Facebook don't actually DO very much except get into random, political arguements with complete strangers who they have nothing in common with - and post ridiculous photographs of their cats doing stupid things!

I don't even know why the "Glocals Hikers" group was started on Faceache?  Is the photo quality so much better?  Or maybe I just hate duplication of effort.

Annoyingly, there are some great photos of today's Glacier Hike on Faceache that I can't even cut and paste onto Glocals - whereas I can cut and paste my Glocals photos onto Faceache.

What's going on people?

Where do your loyalties lie?

With Mr. Zukerberg/make/me/a/million whilst I piss on your privacy settings,  or Messrs. Nir & Oded/we'll/always/be/here/for you for "friendly people/fun activities".  Because that's what today was.

Also guilty but the close-ups of newly ringed birds from last Saturday's hike have gone straight to the club's website - maybe also to individual facebook accounts.

@Carolyn C, I totally agree with you that glocals event pictures should also be uploaded on glocals site but there is a problem you can't upload pictures in high resolution on glocals(i understand data storage and bandwidth is not cheap and most of those pictures are seen once and then buried forever but on facebook atleast you can upload and download/see those high quality images easily.

Hello, I upload my photos to both Facebook and to Glocals: the ones on FB are of a much better quality and can be copied.

I think people do that cos:

- FB pics are easier to load and to share
- FB pics are higher res than ones on glocals

We're working on all of the above to improve glocals pics.

But at least for me, loading pictures on FB can be a pain, because the FB app crashes sometimes, which forces me to spend more time trying to load them again.  While loading pictures on glocals is usually much easier.

That's what we like to hear...(-;

Can't blame FB tho: they're a small site with a limited budget.

Thank you for everyone who stated the "bleedin' obvious" that FB photos are a better quality.

But my point is that they should be posted onto Glocals as a priority because they wouldn't be posting them on FB in the first place,  if they hadn't been on a "Glocals Hike"!

Also, and I know it's a tough one to swallow, but not everyone on Glocals has a FB account Surprised
