Hi all. I'm exploring the possibility of organizing a go karting event in basel. Once we get 15 members signed up we can reserve the track for a true race event complete with practice run, timed practice run, qualifying run and final race heats with top 3 winners getting trophies. Then I thought, why not make this even bigger? If we held simliar events in other cantons we could the end year with a one big championship race event for the fastest glocaler in Switzerland. I'm also making calls to local companies to see if we could get some sponsorship and possibly have cash prizes to sweeten the deal. If this sort of thing has been explored before I'd love to hear about it....Does this sound interesting to anyone?
To be clear, this is not exactly dirt cheap. A race event will run about 120-140CHF/person depending on the track and quality of karts... but it's incredible fun and there are some fabulous tracks in the area, including outdoor ones with really fast karts.
any comments/ideas welcomed.
