I was recommended Dr Koglin by someone for a problem with my shoulder, but my first appointment is only in 2 weeks so I can't say much about him myself.
Dr Laurent Koglin, Hopital de la Tour, Avenue J.D. Maillard 3, tel. 022-7196565. Speaks English.

Thanks for the info!
I was treated for a cross ligament rupture in the knee by Dr. Finn Mahler at Hopital de la Tour - can really recommend him, but not sure how easy it is now to get an appointment. Else check out the website of Hopital de la Tour which is specialised in Sports medecine

Hi, I have a very good experience with http://www.crossklinik.ch/, but Basel may be a bit too far for you to go!
It would be a good idea to have a look for another clinic that has a "Swiss Olimpic Medical Centre" logo, like CrossKlinik, i believe there are 11 of them in CH. All doctors & physios here are very sporty themselves and treat athletes, so very knowledgeable about any kinds of sports injuries and how best to treat them with up to date therapies. I like to do sports, so found their approach suited me the best.
Good luck!

Hi Cindy, if your problem is linked to wrong movements, then a doctor might be too early to consult and you risk getting treated on the sympthoms instead of curing the root cause. First you have to correct your wrong movements or postures because this seems to be the root cause of your problem and only if the problem doesn't get better after it, I would consult a doctor. So first I would recommend a physiotherapist or osteopath for the correction of the movements, if you want to ease any pain then accupuncture in paralell might work. Good luck!

Actually I stopped doing bodystep and switched to bodyjam - so doing manly dancing. consulted my family docor and he suggested taking glucosamine sulfate supplemen, whch he said it'd help. HOwever, my knee continues to hurt and ths is why I'd like to see a specialist. I'm going to HK in a month so maybe I shall wait tll then and try accupuncture there. However, that means I can't go to my favourite bodyjam class.... meanwhile I can just go swimmng instead...

Hi, no surgery was recommended, and knee seems stable now - from time to time I feel a little twist or stiffness, but nothing more. And skiing is feasible too with a support :-). I think it was the right choice for now.

I was operated and followed up by the head of the orthopaedic surgery clinic at HUG. I had my surgery mid September and I was snowboarding again by Christmas. He was very knowledgeable and didn't pamper me like most doctors. He is very busy tho and was always trying to pass me on to somebody else but I didn't let him. If I could do it, your blond charms will work miracles ;)

I would have thought easing off (or stopping completely) for a period would be best. taking medication to reduce the pain while still doing (violent?) exercise does not seem to me to be a good idea.It would probably exacerbate the problem. If have knee problems which I make worse by continuing to do the exercise I enjoy.
Gentle cycling helps

Thanks so much for recommending some fellow danes dear Maybritt. I will contact them tomorrow morning as some people of my running group also go there.
