Hi all -
I moved to Eaux-Vives recently and I wondered if anyone had good recommendations for take-away, around here, or restaurants in general?
Thanks!
- Peter

I lived there for a couple of years, at the side of Place des Eaux-Vives.
The chinese take-away place opposite to Migros in Rue des Eaux-Vives is cheap and decent. The kebab place next to it is acceptable (I'm personally not a big fan of kebab). There's a small thai take-away place just off Place des Eaux-Vives in Avenue de Frontenex that is quite nice. For pizza I normally called Dominos; I tried a few local pizza take-aways but they weren't great. At the start of Rue des Eaux-Vives there are a few more places with quiches and sushi, but their opening hours are quite awkward.
Finally, you can get excellent fresh produce at the nearby indoor market Halles de Rive. Get some Asian food or buy some ravioli that you can warm up yourself in a few minutes (in either microwave or boiling water).

Hey hey, try visiting www.gandhi.ch they are a good quality indian who also deliver, their stuff is really nice plus my girlfired really loved the bag it came in so, you know, if thats a bonus for you too then what more can you want haha.
There is a pizza place called San Marco on the corner of Rue Zurlinden (just round the corner from Rue de Montchoisy) which does good pizza to take away - their other food isn't great though so stick to pizza and don't eat in

hi Peter,
I have just started working in Eaux-Vives so I am discovering places where to eat day by day. For now I would add to the above:
Coup de Giraffe in rue du Maunoir is a little cute place, unfortunately the service is often terrible, but they make delighful quiches. Suitable for a quick lunch or Sunday brunch;
in rue de la Terrassière there is Mikado for Japanese take-away which has a very good choice and quality, at reasonable prices. You can also sign up to get a loyalty card granting you discounts all year long;
Da Paolo, in rue du Lac, is one of the most popular Italian restaurants in Geneva;
La Crise in rue des Eaux-Vives is a good place for both lunch and dinner, not too expensive;
Arirang in rue des Eaux-Vives, just before La Crise, is a small Korean restaurant that does also take-away; the menu is limited but the food is good.

The Café du Nant (corner of rue Maunoir and rue du Nant – diagonally opposite E-V Post Office) is good value for lunch and dinner. Gets very busy at lunch-time on Thursdays and Fridays, so best to book. Closed Saturday, open for Sunday lunch. Management changed recently but I think they still do pizzas to eat-in or take away.
I also go there for a good coffee costing CHF 3.10.
