Our above run out today. Being winter when we are less active on the SBB/CFF network we decided not to renew straight away. Can anyone please indicate what happens when there is a lapse of a few months? Can one simply renew the existing card somewhat later? TIA

You can certainly let your rail season tickets lapse for a few months – I’ve done that more than once – but I don’t know if there is a renewal time limit of, say, a year.
In any case, when you’re thinking of renewing, check out any special offers that might be going such as an extra day ticket. Sometimes it can be worth waiting a week or two before you buy.
Best, R.
