Hello, I'm a self described health nut and I just moved here from the United States back in January. I am looking for like minded people to share ideas about health and talk about local resources for nutrient dense foods. I started a Facebook group called "foodiest Switzerland" along with healthy food we discuss exercise, mental well being, eliminating toxins, healthy lifestyle, and being good stewards of the environment! Here is a link if any other health nuts are interested or if you just want to learn more about being healthy! Cheers, Eric https://m.facebook.com/#!/groups/164734413701854?ref=bookmark&__user=1452476446

I should probably mention I am in the vevey/montreux area!
Great idea! For those interested in healthy and sustainable nutrition, Slow Food Geneva is hosting a dinner tomorrow evening. See http://www.glocals.com/things-to-do/geneva/58526.htm

The volatile oils in ginger have long made it a useful herbal remedy for nasal and chest congestion. Pour 2 cups of boiling water over a 1-inch piece of peeled, grated ginger; steep for 10 minutes; and strain. Add a pinch or two of cayenne pepper to the water and drink as needed.

thanks for the recipe, another recipe to use if you're sick is two tablespoons of raw honey, 1-2 cloves very finely chopped garlic, and cayenne pepper. eat half a teaspoon every couple hours until it's gone. It stinks bad with garlic, but it will kill a cold in about a day.

For sore muscles and joints, apply a cream or ointment that contains capsaicin, the active ingredient in chile peppers, two or three times a day. The heat from the peppers has been shown to help relieve pain.
