Help - need a costume/party shop

Hi Glocalers -

my workplace is having an Aloha party this Friday, and we're trying to find a costume shop or similar that might have some suitable gear like grass skirts and the like... or lei's or something Hawaiian-ish.

I did a web search as I am told there are plenty of costume places in Paquis, but I can't see any listed, probably as I don't speak French.

Can any of you help with any of the following:

1. Locations of costume shops in Geneva?

2. Anywhere that might sell cheap loud hawaiian shirts and/or grass skirts

3. Party supply shops in Geneva?

Hi Amanda,

I know a shop in neighbouring France (Ornex) called Chateaux Gonflables that might suit you well. They sell and rent a lot of different costumes and party supplies. Have a look on: www.chateauxgonflables.info

I'm having an Hawaiin Luau for my daughter's 18th birthday next month at home and have been given a memory stick full of traditional music for the event , if you'd like a copy I can burn it.

there are two costume shops in Gva that I know of... one is opposite Quarinella Restaurant in the old town.. but its more jokey add ons i think.. the other is full costume hire but I forgot the name...Nir will know

I know I'm late cos you needed it for Fri (and it's now Sat), but for next year: try La Mascarade (it's the place Charlie was talking about).

They rent full costumes of all kinds. Not cheap tho (last time I wanted to be a ship's captain, it set me back CHF 90 for a night).
