Help! I need english native speakers for a questionnaire!!!
Hey,

I have to write a termpaper for my studies in english linguistics . It is about the synonyms engagement and appointment. To get some language data I have a questionnaire for native speakers. It´s not difficult and there is no right or wrong. I only want to see if you think that the two words are synonynmous. I would be very happy if some of you would help me and answer my questionnaire

Greetings, Franzi

happy to help too - and I don't find those words obviously synonymous. Although if you were clear about the context (hiring someone) you could perhaps get away with them working interchangeably. But they certainly both have unrelated meanings too. And both can mean a number of things... but I guess you know this.

bugger, I do hope I have not negatively impacted the survey through any influence my comments may have?! Sorry.... if this is the case. Was trying to be expedient.
