Help finding a home for a bird please!

Hello, I am new to the forum and come with a very specific problem!

I have been hand rearing a baby ringneck dove that a friend of mine found in the road 3 weeks ago. He is now big and strong and needs to move on to a more suitable home.

He is too tame to go back into the wild now, and as I live in Chamonix I would also worry that he would freeze or starve. I can't keep him as I dont have the space for a large enough cage. Ideally he needs a home with someone who is experienced in keeping birds or in a wildlife sanctuary or similar.

I would be very grateful of any help or advise you can offer.

Many thanks :)

You could contact the above who would probably know of a centre in France closer to you.

Hi Gemma:

Please contact LPO League for Protection of the Birds, which is in Annecy. Check the link

tel +33450271774     with email:     [email protected]

They will immediately explain how to proceed as they have a local bird specialist living between Cluse and Chamonix.

When you report the bird's name  please quote the french term  (and bird specie) i.e.

Tourterelle turque (Streptopelia decaocto)
