Help me with the transport tarifs!

See if you can save me a trip to the station information desk.

I want to travel from Nyon to Geneva,  Bus > Train > Tram and return, monthly or yearly ticket.  From the map showing the zones, I see zone 10 - 21- 22 .. But 22 sort of shows towards Nyon. .

Does zone 22 cover Nyon? I guess not?

You can find the tariffs here. It's only a question of how many zones you cross. either 3 or 4 zones so you are looking at either 97 or 123 a months. You will need to go in person to one of the agencies agencies to make he subscription anyway so as long as you are prepared to do it on the spot this is the only trip you will need to make. Bring an ID and photograph.

John, Nyon and Geneva are split across two different fare zone systems.  You're starting your journey in the Unireso system and ending in the Mobilis system.

I think you need this.

I think it's 203Sfr/month, by the way.  A bit higher if you need to cover all of zone 20 in Nyon and not just the train station.  If you buy it for 12 months you only pay for nine.

Thanks!  This is what I thought, about the totally different zones.. Quite a price jump so I think I'll go for the 12 for the price of 9 deal :-/

I'll be staying in eysins so either 15 mins walk or take the bus from the station.. hmm

Do your sums first, though.

Are you sure you will be here for a year?

Will you ever be away for, say, a month on holiday when you won’t need the ticket?

For some so-called bargains, it can be just as well to leave money in your own account rather than help swell the coffers of a corporate entity.
