Hooked to espresso!

Ok so we come to switzerland and nespresso is the big item on the wish list of most expats. You gotta have one to be the perfect host. What's the big deal about it??!!

I've seen other machines such as a the martello, delizo or the nestle delonghi something at half the price with more flavors and options of various coffees - hot and cold AND ICE TEAS!! I mean this  one button machines are fantastic!! Yet everyone seems to close their eyes and buy a nespresso.

There oughtto be a place where you can go and try the coffees from all these machines to break this marketing gimmick.

We want to buy a machine and me and my hubby can't decide because i'm up for a machine that we can also use in summer and makes SOOooo many things.. and he's sticking to the one shot BORING nespresso machine!

What's your verdict?

" Yet everyone seems to close their eyes and buy a nespresso."

That’s because they are subliminaly entwined by horrendous media advertising and brainwashed by G.Cloney !!!  And not to mention the cosmopolite attraction to such yuppie gadgets

In France we call that 'bourrage de crane intempestif'

Nah you want a good old fashion Bialetti cafetiere, they are built like tanks are retro chic and make good coffee Cool

enjoy the clip

AS much as i enjoyed this clip - i'd have to shoot myself if it took that long to make me a cup of coffee.. I'm a cold coffee drinker who doesn't even shake the coffee.. Due to lack of time and a baby who wants my attention!

I have to say i am a fool for the one button coffees.. (sorry) but stuck to WHICH ONE! Just got back from france today and were at a very happening restaurant where they served old school cappucinos and i wondered why they can't afford a nespresso - Now i know why :-)

hi Kanika,

as an Italian I was very skeptical in the first place, but since  I have tried Nespresso I cannot have any other coffee :)

there is also the machine to make cappuccino automatically (meaning, you put water, milk and the capsule, press a button and that's it). Easy, quick, and excellent coffee.

I am addicted to it so my vote goes to it.

Gotta say I'm not a huge fan of the nespresso but then again I'm a coffee snob :P I get a freshly roasted bag each month from http://shop.squaremilecoffee.com/ and then grind it as I want it in a kyocera hand grinder and then brew it up in an aeropress.

Its a bit more effort than the nice one step nespress but it makes for a lovely espresso!

Jeeeez, you two lasses do not need much to be impressed...

A middle aged old guy with pepper hair sipping nespresso and bleating out two liner smoothies turns you on...

 Wink

I think the marketing dept of nespresso understood eons ago how to win customers

Innocent

I'm with you there, Danny! Unfortunately I never got to try the Aeropress, but there's nothing like a freshly ground high quality roast, and fiddling with everything yourself until it's perfect.
