This is obviously a question for horse lovers....
I started to chat with a woman whose job is to take care of Horses feet. Bare feet only, no horseshoe.
What do you think of horseshoes ? Is it really useful ? Is it really good for the horse ?

Naturally horses ran wild, (barefoot :-) ) but there wernt so many roads in those days...
The shoes today are used to give extra grip, especially for hunting, and racing, polo etc there speed is of the essence and the rider needs more security in stability...
Shoes on roads can be slippy, but also give the horse some protection on a surface that is not part of its natural habitat running wild across plains...

Some horses are left without shoes for a few months of the year:) Depends on ground conditions and what kind of work you expect them to do. It is very interesting!
