Horsing around...

So the question comes to my mind, with all this hoo haa about horse meat found in places where it shouldn’t be, do we actually care about the meat content or just the deception?

http://www.thelocal.fr/page/view/horsemeat-scandal--authorities-raid-french-firms#.URlUch3uXp8

Could it even be that the horse meat has added a better flavour to the lasagna al microwavo?

it's not just the deception, it's the fact it's horse. If it was chicken instead of beef, the issue would be far less hot. But horse meat is a different pony all together.

"Deception" seems the right word as some people would have immediately identified some mane hairs in their meat and not being confused with any dental thread. In the present matter no clue at all if it wouldn't have been from careful lab analysis.

Just imagine if there would have been some feathers remnants from ostrich bird? After all it' still red meat as well.

The chairman of Findus was asked for how many years they've been using these particular meat suppliers and he answered by stamping his foot on the ground three times.

Horsemeat found in British supermarkets 'may be donkey'

Read in THE INDEPENDENT:

"A law banning horses from Romanian roads may be responsible for the surge in the fraudulent sale of horsemeat on the European beef market, a French politician said yesterday.

Horse-drawn carts were a common form of transport for centuries in Romania, but hundreds of thousands of the animals are feared to have been sent to the abattoir after the change in road rules...some of the “horse meat” which has turned up on supermarket shelves in Britain, France and Sweden may, in fact, turn out to be donkey meat."
