Re: How much should I charge per hour?

Waqas,
I don't think the preparation time is to be paid by the client.
If that is of any help for comparison, the plumber who came to my place charged me 60 CHF just for the "déplacement" and 150.- for the hour (therefore 210.- as a total... a bit too expensive considering he worked in my bathroom for about 7 minutes);
Communications people I know charge 150.- to 170.- per hour for artwork (and they tell me it's very cheap.... oh well);
The Uni sciences student who gives after-school maths classes to my maths-brain-dead son asks 29.- (through an agency) but I give him more;
Teachers are given around 80.- the hour (in fact, 45 minutes' of class).
Osteopaths' fees, paid cash immediately after the 45-minutes session, range from 80.- to 110.- ;
And official interpreters called by state authorities, albeit possessing diplomas and expertise, are paid I believe 60.- per hour + 20.- as "indemnité de déplacement" once per session.
Frankly speaking I find your estimate way too high, I'd go with 80 or 90.- per hour. Or I'd ask more for the first hour, and a bit less for the second, third... hours (of the same session of course). This will cover your "effort" of going there. Unless your client is disgustingly well off, some sort of dodgy Caucasian nabab who's just bought a 50 million mansion on Cologny's Heights.... in that case you can ask anything.
