I am looking for a private teacher to learn German language from zero. How much would such lessons cost?

So, I received a price range from 25 to 80 francs per hour, which is really not helpful. Anyone who takes or gives private lessons - please respond!

If you choose a company like Berlitz, you will have a full service at a full price (about 4'000.00 CHF for forty lessons).
Not sure, where to search for private teacher in Geneva, but maybe the university would be a start?

just to give an idea.
For English lessons, I charge 30 francs per hour for one person and 50 francs per hour for 2-3 people but I do not have a diploma and do not use audio-visual equipment. So expect to pay az least CHF 50 for a qualified person and more if you go to a language school

Dear Alessandro,
Thank you for the quote. I guess it is much more expensive to learn German in Geneva than any other language - min 60 CHF per hour, according to the quotes that I've received... interesting observation...

Iana. I would think 60 about right if this is from a qualified person and this is his/her profession. Otherwise you have to make do with part timers or retirees like me

Thank you Paul, I'll keep that in mind!
Lana: if it's a qualified teacher, I think 60 is good, even a little on the cheap side. I paid 80 / hour for a private french teacher.

Thank you Nir and Richard. I think I have enough information now on the subject. We can archive this thread.
