How to get a work permit as a private Nanny

Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone has any advice on getting a work permit to work as a nanny for a private family, they have never employed anyone in Switzerland before and neither have I.  I am a British citizen and I've had a L permit a couple of years ago but through a restaurant.  The job starts in September and I'm not sure if I'll be living in Switzerland or France.

All advice welcome,

Thanks

See this link: http://www.englishforum.ch/family-matters-health/21578-nanny-contract-registration.html for some answers.

It includes a sample employment contract which you will need to apply for your permit.

In case if you need a professional help, a Geneva lawyer, Mr. Gautier, could be a resort you may like to consider. I know of his kindness and friendliness first of all. He is specialised particularly in employment matters in Geneva laws from many different aspects and "very fluent in English", having practiced laws more than 30 years including some time in the U.K. and the U.S. If you like, have a look at his office website:  www.cabmayor.ch

The other day, on my personal visit, I found him very friendly and I enjoyed talking with him about Geneva things in general. Best!
