How to get work permit in Suisse

Hi everyone,

I was looking for jobs for several years and the only reason why i didn't - no work permit and conmpanies dont make it as it's very complicated and expensive...

So now it's a circle: without work permit i can't find a job, companies won't make for me work permit...

Where is the way to stay in suisse?????!!!

I came here to Switzerland to study French language with my permit L(sejour pour formation) Aside from studying French, I really wanted to find a part time job. I have tried to apply in hotels and some English speaking bars and I guess one of the main factors why I can not be accepted is my permit. Does anyone knows if it is possible to change my permit so I can work legally even for part time jobs?

Well I have checked and I cannot find any information. Is there a difference between a residence permit and a work permit or does your residence permit determing if you can work or not?

getting a work permit is one of the hardest things in swiss lol. Applying for student permit, if you're studying french daily, can be an option, where you would get a couple of hours a week, or work.

So what is a work permit and what does it look like? I am really getting confused here. been in switzerland for 10 years and I have never been given a work permit just the residence permit and I have worked and paid taxes so is there a document I have been missing?

Hi everyone , its only from my point of view and from my expirence .There are different types of permits .L, B,C,F Etc . i think that with all the permits you can work .

i think that there are two or three types of permi B . One is B re-groupment famalial avec le activité and the other is B -Séjour pour Formation. i am not sure about this fact because i heard that with student B permit .we cannot work (apart from the internship , from the sector of our studies eg. for hotel school students can work in hotels bars etc .. depends on the studies you do) .Unless you are a University student in a public University like Uni Ge Uni Lausanne etc then you have a possibility to work 20 something hours in a week as part time .So if you really want to know the legela aspects . try to consult with an advocate (in geneva you can even find an advocate just for one or two hours of consulting so you will get the right advice )Because here the rule is not same for all  (EU and non EU ) .

Good Luck

very true, as a full time legitimate student you have the right to work part time. ( 16 or 20 hrs per month if i remember correctly) when i was a student here in lausanne, there was a message board where you could find part time student jobs.

i gave english classes at the migros night school where i met a director of a swiss food chain ( usego ) and he gave me a real job and acquired my real full time work permit.

so, you never know what awaits you.......Laughing

The bottom line is: Swiss citizens and citizens from an European Union country have priority on the job market. So a company can hire you, as a Russian citizen, only if no candidates with a Swiss or a European Union passeport are available. That means, you have to be very specialized, or maybe apply for jobs for which fluent Russian is a prerequisite.

Very true, but first find and capture your Swiss.  Bain’t so easy if you’re the female of the species.

Dear,

Resident permit is for rich people that doesn't need work and have some tax facilities. You get it if you have some millions.

Work permit is very hard to have and now with the 9 February elections it will be much more dificult to have.

You can work in all international organizations or find a husband with permis ;-)
