Humor - A bit of truth??
Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN ) for 6 am.

While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA ) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG).

He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE)

and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA).

After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO) to see how much he could spend today.

After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA) he got in his car

(MADE IN GERMANY) filled it with GAS (from Saudi Arabia) and continued his search for a good paying job.

At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his computer (Made In Malaysia), Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in AMERICA .

There's a price to pay for cheap goods: i.e. production and jobs go elsewhere. So Jo Smith is part of the problem. He wants lots of junk for cheap and now cannot get a job.

It's defiinitely home-grown propaganda. As for the sex, Jo can get on a flight to some other country, where sex is cheaper and where he can get a job assembling computers.

There's quite a good book about economic teasers like this that I can recommend.   It's called 'The Undercover Economist' by Tim Harford.

It's all relative, but I am sure that even old Joe has access to more 'good paying jobs' than he thinks and more than people elsewhere in the world.   Whenever dollars are changed into local currencies to purchase alarm clocks and jeans, at some point those dollars have to be repatriated and spent on American goods and services.    One expenditure allows for the other, this is positive for Joe and other people just like him.

But why the hell does Joe get up at 6am if he doesn't have a job ?
