Humor - which sport is the greatest?
FW: Which sport is the greatest?

So, the Olympics are on. Some say, Olympics are the greatest thing because they bring people together. In a different season, some say the same thing about football, or hockey, or frisbee. Now not all of them can be the greatest. Which sport really has the greatest potential for bringing people together? Me thinks its kissing. Here is why:

Anyone can do it. It is easy. Step forward and just do it!

No equipment required. Whether you are wearing business dress, or casual dress, or next to no dress at all, you can go for it.

No time constraints. You can take a quick kiss, or you can kiss slowly and gently for a long time.

No stadiums or fields required. You can kiss in the bedroom, the boardroom, the street corner, and even while sitting with your laptop on a couch watching those other sports.

Kissing is a sport with pretty much no rules. You can kiss however you like, starting with a gentle peck on the face to wherever your deep sense of imagination takes you.

Kissing does not require pre-emptive moves targeting the middle east, far east, mid west, or the deep south. Your moves can be deliberate and pre-announced.

Most types of kissing is not tested on animals. But hey, who are we to judge your fantasies.

Kissing is 100% recyclable and biodegradable. No waste is produced during kissing. So if you really want to help the environment, kiss somebody.

Kissing is fat free, zero sodium, non-GM and its organic. When you kiss somebody, you help yourself.

You can kiss just about everyone... your spouse, your significant other, your friend, your friend with benefits, someone you sort of know but its getting complicated, someone you don’t know. Avoid kissing them all at the same time though.

Kissing can be a Member Activities’ life saver. Next time you are in an activity that is like too full of uncomfortable silences or boring, don't just cook up an excuse and leave. Try this instead: lean over and kiss somebody. Try it. See how it sparks things up.

But!

There is the "Kiss of Death."

Like the kiss from a Mafioso, a poorly executed kiss can also lead to dating death. To avoid getting the kiss off, remember these necking no-no's. Never lunge at your date or approach with a gaping mouth or sticky-outtie tongue. Nor is it a good idea to start things off with your jackhammer move or to aim immediately for their tonsils - gentle exploring is certainly called for, but pace and timing are critical. Finally, try and keep your saliva in check to avoid that slobbering dog look afterward.

Ancient Chinese proverb:

"Kissing is like drinking salted water: you drink and your thirst increases."

Kissing alone uses 29 muscles and torches 20 calories per minute, according to research by Beiersdorf AG, the makers of NIVEA Lip Care.

OK. One last one!

Some "slight" male/female differences in the statistics.

A kiss, according to Louis Armstrong, is just a kiss. While that may well be true, a new survey reveals that kissing plays a more important role in the wellbeing of our relationships than some of us might think. The survey, which was commissioned by online dating site www.datetheuk.com, found that practically everyone – a staggering 98% of men and 97% of women - agrees that kissing is one of life’s greatest pleasures.

But more importantly, the consensus, among people interviewed, was that kissing plays a key part in making us feel physically good: an astonishing 97% of women and 90% of men surveyed reported that kissing makes them feel better, with 70% of both men and women agreeing that kissing is one of the best ways to relax.

Some people went a stage further: an average 61% of both men and women declared that kissing is essential to their wellbeing. According to neurological experts there is actually a physiological explanation for why kissing feels so good. A good kiss stimulates the brain to produce the neurochemical dopamine and the hormone oxytocin, which in turn stimulates the release of the body’s natural little “happy pills,” called endorphins. In other words, kissing really does produce feelings of euphoria and pleasure. No wonder we can’t live without it!

Perhaps that is why, for many people, it is a kiss that forms the start of a beautiful relationship. The survey, of 572 people, found that 73% of women and 55% of men have fallen for someone because of the way they kissed. A bad kiss, on the other hand, can be a deal-breaker: 54% of women have ended a relationship because they didn’t like the way they were kissed (is it any surprise that guys tend to be less fussy? Only 21% have finished with someone because of their poor kissing technique!).

When it comes to celebrities, almost all of the men surveyed are united in their belief that Angelina Jolie would be the sexiest kisser. Women, however, are more divided. The most popular celebrity to snog (in their dreams) is Johnny Depp; but only by a narrow margin. Brad Pitt and George Clooney come in equal 2nd position of desirable smooches. But when it comes to the most kissable lips, Brad wins hands down: he got an astonishing 50% more votes than his nearest rival, George Clooney!

No way! A decent run burns 10 calories per minute. 20 calories per minute burn with kissing...!!?

Those scientists are on something... (or doing something else in addition to kissing)

Another trivia... the original of this "Le Baiser" Doisneau photograph sold for over $200'000 few years ago

If kissing alone is as such, I wonder what kissing with someone else would do??? ;)
