Folks - we appreciate feedback, and it's the best way for us to improve.
But when you just say you don't like something, without explaining why you don't like it, and how it can be improved, it doesn't help.
If you don't like something - tell us why you don't like it, and how we can imrpove it, and we'll try to fix it.
Thanks alot, and I still don't like balsamic vinigrette :-)
Oded

Thanks for the feedback Justin.
I'm afraid this is one item I will not be able to fix in the near future, but hopefully, some day, I'll be able to relax on a Sunday :-)

Now that's what I call feedback :-)
We're rebuilding the City Guide to make it more useful and user friendly, and will relaunch it in a few weeks.
Thanks
Oded

I have to admit, that I don't like the new site neither. Most new functionalities are rather "nice to have"s (like adding an activity picture, being able to put comments on activities) but in my opinion no major improvements. The only new thing I like is the possibility to see who joins an activity.
The reasons why I say that I don't really like the new site are:
* I still find it a bit slow.
* The chat is not working.
* There is no email notification anymore when a new activity is posted (I know that you intend to bring this back). This has consequences:
1. People aren't informed and consequently tend to join last minute (when they browse the activity list to see what's on today or tomorrow).
2. It makes the organizer's life more difficult, especially when organizing an event when you need a minimum of participants.
I suppose a lot of glocals don't use the site anymore as much as they did before because of the remaining new site's issues (that's at least what I heard from my friends).
I was wondering what people would decide if there was a vote for getting the old site back...
Nevertheless, I was positively surprised to notice that the switch from the old to the new site was rather good.
And I really appreciate that we can give feedback and receive replies very quickly.

Hi Just_Me and Alfredo, and thanks for the clear feedback.
I understand and agree with the points you raise, and, though I'm sure people are sick of hearing it, I assure you that we take all feedback very seriously, and our 'To Do' list is constantly being updated based on what our members tell us.
Re the chat - we relaunched it today (I hope you are seeing the blue bar at the bottom of your screen). For now, people can only chat with their friends, but once we see that the chat works ok, we will enable people to chat with non friends that are interested in chatting too.
Re the notifications when new activities are posted - we're working on this right now, and I expect it to be added this week.
Re the 'Invite all friends' and 'Reply to selected' functions - again, we're working on them, and I expect them both to be added this week.
So yeah, we know it's a bit of a painful transition, but I think that in the end, the new site will be alot better than the old site, and we just hope you guys won't lose your patience, and will keep telling us how we can improve.
Thanks again, and have a great week
Oded

So when we go back one or two years ago, we have been asking a whole series of small changes like being able to write french words with accents in the mail - and then admin stopped improving the old site because they were preparing a new one which would include all we asked for and more.
I have the feeling many things have been and are going to be changed, time will learn if the changes are for the better.
But I don't understand why the new site has started while basic functions were not yet implemented.
Where are our tagged and commented pictures ?
Why is the chat still not available, why did we loose our mail subfolders,
Why the impossibility to search for members in a particular place with particular interest, like " bowling, in Nyon", and chess in Morges.
Why did we loose the location option Geneva&Lausanne ?
Why did we loose the info of the date of first and last login.
Why all these changes of features we were used to and were working with.
Then, claiming a membership of 25'000 is very nice but a very large percentage of these have not logged in recently, not to say they have not logged in after their first login.
Hopefully when we get used to the new site and use its features well, it will be an invitation to login more often.
Well, I hope the advantage of the new site will turn out to be that the developers can more easily add the features we will be asking for - because that was the main sales argument two years ago - the old site software was said not to be flexible enough.
In the mean time we are waiting for the positive features of the old site to come back.

If my house was big enough, I would invite you all for a Crêpe Party (even Oded because I know he's doing a lot of work) :-)
I agree with what has been said above, I just wanted to add for myself, (what I actually informed the admin of through the "Feedback section"), that:
* Profile interests section cannot be filled, and
* Profile photo cannot be deleted and uploaded
(please laugh with me!)

We just added the 'Invite all Friends' option for activity organizers.
Thanks
