I need a MacBook power supply in here STAT!

Aight.

The short of it is that I need a charger for a MacBook -- the annoying rectangular magnetic connection -- and I need it today.

The stupidness of it is that, thanks to my infinite drunkenness last night, mine is now in 2 pieces.

There's not a hope of a shop being open today, is there. Or? Got any ideas? I can (a) buy your spare (b) borrow yours in some cafe  (if one is open) while I buy you drinks and dazzle you with conversation (c) do pretty much anything else that leads to me having 4 hours of battery life tomorrow morning.

For the boring details, read on...

The desperation of it is that all the shops are shut, obv. I have to fly tomorrow at 11am, be at the airport by 9h30 or something and won't be able to get down to a shop and be at the airport on time. Making matters worse, I have to give a conference talk on Monday morning and, me being me, this talk is not yet written. My plan was to cobble it together from old talks on the flight, but with 0% battery and no charger, this is not really a possibility. I guess it's conceivable that I could get one in the airport but I doubt I could give it sufficient juice in time. It's hard to imagine worse timing for this.

Oh bollocks.

I don't know where you are but I have two chargers.  One is Swiss and another one American outlet connection.  If you have an adaptor you can use the American one, or you can borrow the Swiss one as I have access to another computer and you can return it when your coputer is sufficiently charged!

The shops in the airport should be open everyday and there is an interdiscount.  Perhaps you could give them a call to see if they have what you need.

Hayes,

We have a 65A and a 80A (MacBook 13 and 15" chargers)  We do not have an extra one, but I can meet you.  I also just posted a sale of an extra battery (new) for a new Macbook pro computer (15", Aluminum body for US cost -140CHF.  It might help you.  If you buy a new charger in the US, it will not come with the swiss plug, but you can buy the charger and the travel kit for less than a new one here).

Let me know ASAP if you want to borrow one, we can make it work.

OK OK, panic over. Thanks everybody.

I found an old PowerBook charger that was just hanging around doing nothing. With the aid of a Swiss army knife, my teeth, and some electrical tape I have mated the two useless/broken chargers to produce working offspring. It's kind of ugly, but the bonus is that the wire is really really long. It's like evolution. It'll last me today; I'll buy a new one somewhere tomorrow.

Thanks for your offers of help. Very kind :)
