I need advice on managing/setting up hotel in France near swiss border.

Have heard that setting up a business in France is problematic! We are trying to evict the management company Apartcity from a residence in Divonne. This is a long, expensive legal process but we are hopeful that eventually we will succeed. We would like to manage the property ourselves (group of Irish and English people who own the building) and I am here in Divonne on a fact finding mission. Who should I talk to?

Anyone in the hotel business? Employment lawyer? Accountant?

I need some initial advice and then ongoing consultancy.

Thanks for helping - regards Anna

Living in France [the other side of the Lake] as we do, our first step would be to talk to, and to make yourself known to the kindly people at the Mairie. If they are as helpful and friendly as the staff at our Mairie, you can glean a heap of information about what to do, where to go and how to do it simply by having a chat with them - or perhaps by making an appointment with the Maire himself/herself [ours is a lovely, lovely lady with three children and a busy psychology practice to run].

We know nothing about the setting up of hotels, but if you need practical information, do not hesitate to send a PM whereafter we will do our best to be of assistance. Good luck!
