Hi Sam, the absolute best Indian curry i've found (by British standards) is a little outside of Geneva. Its called RajPoute (i know theres one in Carouge but its not the same as i tried it), the address is Route de Bretigny, Villars-Tacon 01210 Ornex, its about 5/10 minutes drive from Ferney Voltaire, so if you have a car, its really, really worth it.

Food is amazing, service is spot on. +33 450 408 290.

My favorite is still the "Little India" in the Paquis. I consider it the most authentic (given that we are in Switzerland), its the least expensive of the ones I have been to and I usually see groups of Indians in there. So, I keep coming back.

There are a few good South Asian restaurants on the French side.

1) Papadum, Annemasse - South Indian family owned, so South Indian Cuisine, which is quite rare to find in these parts. (open on Sunday evening, closed on Mondays).

2) Rameeka, Gaillard - North Indian/Pakistani Cuisine (open on Sundays)

3) Khan, Annemasse - North Indian/Pakistani Cuisine (quite similar to Rameeka, same owner, but their lunch deals are of better value)

4) Best Fried Chicken, rue de Genève, Ambilly - Indian-owned Fast food joint (open 7 days a week).

Bon appetit!

As an Indian I can tell you, with authority, that RajPoute on the French side (not the one in Geneva) is the most authentic food that you can have...reasonable prices, good quantitiy and a warm hospitality....Cool

By UK standard we mean spicy/piquant/hot ?

Indeed it's impossible to find anything really spicy here!  I bought a recipe book and make my own. We have the occasional curry night in the house now with friends coming around to get a fix real heat.

Even the UK classic vindaloo is not even mildly spicy here  :-/

Fully agreeing!  Established there for about 25 years with a regular clientele!

7-8 minutes drive from Ferney, the F bus stops a few minutes walk from the Rajpoute.

It attracts proper Indian & Pakistanese clients locally and from the Swiss side at lunch and dinner time.  It's always busy and it is usually recommended to book.

Enjoy!

the closest, in terms of taste, would be to cook at home using recipes lying around on internet lol.
