Insurance - stolen bicycle(s)

My second bicycle in a year has been stolen. I have had them a couple of years so don't have my original receipts, although do have the guarantee form for this one showing the price etc. I have household contents insurance and have made a police report each time.

Insurance would not pay out last time as I didn't have a receipt and I expect the same this time around.

Any thoughts on what evidence I can provide or whether they have to pay out? Otherwise I think I'd rather save my insurance money towards a new bicycle each year!

Thank you

Dear Manno,

You did well by making a police report and declaration to insurance company.

What you have to do is contact your insurance and declare the theft. For the receipt, we don't always have receipts for everything, but you seem to have a document mentionning a garantee at your name and a price.

You have to discuss with you company for the reimbursment, and don't forget that you will have a deductible of 200.-.

Don't hesitate to ask if you want some help,

cheers
