Hi folks, I am bored of getting screwed by UBS for transferring money back to the UK from Switzerland.
Is there a competitively priced service that avoids UBS/other banks?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Michael, how much is UBS charging you?
I thiught you could do SEPA transfers from UBS to UK, which I seem to remember costs 0.50CHF. (It's certainly the way I transfer money to euro mail order companies, especially in Germany. I transfer small sums, and do not remember having been screwed.)

So what on earth are you doing that costs 25CHF? Walking up to the counter with a wad of cash? Because account-to-account certainly shouldn't cost that much.

This the normal UBS charge for a bank transfer outside CH.
Check out if http://transferwise.com/ helps you save money.
I was sure that the swiss fintech company moneytis was known from you guys, this is a great way to compare money transfer solutions and choose the cheapest

I use the following company with great results....
http://www.currencyfair.com/#oxonian89
you are right it is a great solution even though I would have chosen a comparator because their rates change every day, and it is important to me to save money
then when I try comparators, sometimes currencyfair is the cheapest, and sometimes not.

As you can see I put Moneytis as the 2nd best comparator even though I work in this company. Indeed I think that for the moment tawipay is better because it has more countries & currencies.
But anyway Michael's post is about transferring money from Switzerland to the UK.
I found this post here quite amusing:

Don't worry Currencyfair is sometimes less expensive than Transferwise, I did the test recently on moneytis.com ;-)

Hi Christof,
thanks for mentionning TawiPay, but you'll be happy to hear that we do not only use data from the World Bank (it's actually less than 5% of our database). We also aggregate live rates from many money transfer operators.
In addition, Saveonsend.com in not focused on bitcoin, but is mostly adressing the US market.
Cheers,
François from TawiPay

another vote for transferwise. user freindly reliable etc.
I just tried tawipay for a transfer from UK to US and Azimo came up with the best deal by quite a significant amount. I've never heard of them but they seem to have a lot of good reviews with one or two bad ones. Does anyone know anything about them?
Thanks, Emma

Azimo is also a serious money transfer solution, they serve customers in 198+ countries, offering them convenient ways to pay. The company raised more than $30 miilion !
Personnally I already used them many times. Here are the pros and cons:
Pros:
You can send EUR & GBP from Europe to more than 190 countries
Many payment methods : Bank account, credit card, debit card, Sofort, Ideal
Many delivery methods: Bank account, Cash, SWIFT, mobile recharge, ATM, physical delivery
Easy to use
Cons:
You can send EUR & GBP only ;-(
The prices are ever-changing, even within some hours
The service is on average more expensive than Transferwise and Currencyfair, but not always
Feel free to ask for more information
best regards

Thanks a lot for the helpful info Christophe. Even with the service charge, Azimo offered the best deal. What you've said gives me more confidence in using them.

Hi Alexandra
I'm wondering whether there is any money transfer comparison site which is not free?
Well anyway the comparison service MONEYTIS, Money Transfer Is Simple is free of course.
Here is the example about how it looks like from GBP to MXN:
