Internet

I have a basic internet only package from swisscom and we had an outage this weekend (still not resolved..). I'm using this opportunity to see what else is available around and am once again amazed at how much more expensive swisscom are than the competition.

I've noticed a lot of sunrise advertising recently and checked out their offers. Apart from being much easier to understand their budles, for the same price as I am paying swiss com for 10mBit down I can get 100mBit down from sunrise. For the package I'm getting from swisscom, sunrise is 45% cheaper. Can someone help me understand how this is possible?

Hey Ondrej,

In trying to get comparisons, I use comparis.ch. For your questions, it would be interesting to check the following result:

https://en.comparis.ch/telecom/adsl/adsl.aspx?id=TC_PG_ADSLstandard

Enjoy!

Thanks.

Well yes, if you have a look at this particular comparison, swisscom charges double (than sunrise) for a service that is 3x slower...

remember, you must have fibre link available for the 100megabit connection. may not be available in your area.

Epicure - I have a fibre link connected (supposedly 5G) and I only get 10 Mbps download and 1.15 mbps upload - I take it that it should be better than this ??
