depends what you're looking for. I go to an asian shop to get my spices and noticed that they have a section of oriental sauces and japanese buckwheat soba noodles, which tends to be pretty cheap. i guess if you want specific things like okonimiyaki sauce or fish flakes, probably a specialist might be best, but it'll be expensive.

basic things like nori seaweed, or sushi sticky rice and vinegar ect, can be found in migros, coop, globus and manor.

The cheapest place to buy Japanese and other asian food (The owners are Vietnamese) is the Mekong Market, 30 rue de Versoix, 01210 Ferney Voltaire just across the border in France. The most authentic supermarket for Japanese food is the Uchitomi in Geneva and Lausanne. Mikado used to have Japanese and Korean food as a supermarket, but it's more and more becoming a restaurant these days.

Uchitomiis a good japanese food choice for Geneva, but really expensive.

Behind the Brasserie and behind Holy Cow is a chinese market that sells philipino, Korean, chinese, thai, japanese products. Including fresh veggies

If you dont have mirin, you can replace sake(for cooking) and sugar. like mirin1tbs= sake 1tbs and suger1cs.

Yep i went along and it was pretty fun! Although slightly disappointed with the Okonimiyaki...sauce was authentic but they added noodles, which they dont traditionally do :/

we also have okonomiyaki with noodle. From my understanding the okonomiyami comes from mainly hirosima.

I am sorry to say that Mikado was previously good, but now it seems to become an industrialised food-chain "Mi-crado" (it sounds if you know French)- my personally opinion of course :)

I had once their "noodles", aparently (and taste) resembling Migros spaghetti, I never got bakc...

Yeah, it was not the same as I expected with Cabbage, a like potato root, and sauces/spices. Further the lines for tickets and then lines for getting the food really was 'way too long'

I do remember eating a japanese pandcake, similiar to Okonimikai but had alot of noodles but I think was from okinawa or south, not sure at all. But omg it was so good.

I really love asian food, like Thai, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Malaysian Tongue out
