Last minute trip to London - Any tip? ;)

I need to go on a business trip to London tomorrow, but will have Saturday morning and Saturday night free for having some fun. Any tip? ;)

Any group like glocals over there or nice friends of yours who could show me the London night life? I hate going out alone ...

well.. there is a first time for (almost) everything in life, right?

Cheers,

Carol

Mmm,most of my friends are busy professionals coping with work and family,so not really available.

But you can have fun on your own.Get Time  Out magazine or similar to see what's on.

Saturday morning is a great time to visit Camden market and wander around looking at the great variety of stuff on offer - and all the interesting people-and try some interesting food..

Sunday evening? Well, there are always the pubs, cinemas and SOME clubs .

Wish I could join you - lucky thing!.You need to check out a London listings magazine - or website.

Have a great trip

There are too many things to do and see in London. You need to narrow it down for us:

- Have you been to London before?

- What do you normal do when you go on city trips?

Depending on what you like to do..I enjoyed going to Southbank and then going up in the London Eye..then again, I'm pretty much into sightseeing :)

And....shopping! Even if you where not planning on it, you MUST go to PRIMARK and grab a couple of shirts or blouses..they have a lot to choose from (CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP).

I also went to a musical, may be a good idea if you "run out of things to do".

Enjoy your trip, cheers!

You'll have to excuse me, I haven't had the time to catch up on the news.

My apologies.

By the way Carol, after I went to London I found this guide that has an overview of the yearly events. Maybe you will find something there that you like. I believe you can google it as: Londown Town 2013. It's free for ipad.

Hope it helps.

Hi Edward!

I have been to London only for 3 days in 1998 I guess. On my first trip to Europe. I usually dont do this kind of short unplanned trip, but what I do is I usually combine a business trip with at least 1 day off to:

- see the main turistic places (quick tour)

- eat local specialities I would not easily find somewhere else

- go to local bars and just observe the people. Those trips I have  never done alone, so... there was always at least 1 working colleague with me.

At this time I will be there with our supplier to direct a video

Hopefully they are good enough and I dont need to work too long tonight ;)

A friend of mine lives in Dublin and is trying to convince me to go and visit her instead of staying in London. Not sure what to do.... it is anyway too early to decide now. I am on the way to the airport after a very short night. So..

Thanks in advance for your tips! ;)

And everybody elses who posted or will post something.

Wish you all a great day and weekend,

Carol

Touristic places: I recommend the area around Piccadilly (Piccadilly, Leicester Square, Coventry Garden, China Town, Soho), and Westminster (Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Downing Street. If you want a bit of shopping focus more on the area between Piccadilly and Oxford Street and drop Westminster.

I wouldn't recommend the London Eye; it will take you 3 hours to get tickets and make the circle, and you don't have much town.

Restaurants: there are too many excellent restaurants to list here. If you want something special make sure you reserve. You could consider Indian or Fish & Chips for something local, but there are also excellent Asian restaurants, Steakhouses and lots of others. Ask your colleagues. At night you can also see a musical; just pick whichever you (think you) like,
