We set out with the intent of getting 'glace de la maison' at this restaurant. But wait, who goes to a chinese restaurant for ice cream you ask. I have been longing for green tea ice cream and am looking to find the best ice creams in Geneva for my food blog (uglifruit.blogspot.com)
However, we ended up being proper adults and having dinner first. The service was prompt and accommedating. Nice terrace in a quiet neighborhood with a gorgeously decorated inside. There was a small pond with koi running throughout the place and red laquered walls with all manner of tasteful decoration. Very large and looks like it could easily host a big dinner (gol dinner, anyone interested?)
Our waiter, Bill, turned out to be one of the co-owners...as well as the man that makes the ice cream! He is super friendly and helpful. Although the restaurant has been there 18 years he and his friend have only owned it for 1.5 so far. They seem to be doing well.
So, on to the part you are most interested in...the ice cream. They offer lychee, green tea, and taro root, as well as fried ice cream. I would recommend them all!!! They are so smooth and clean, the perfect summer treat. Plus they have excellent hours
M-F and Sunday 11.30-15, 18.30-midnight
Sat. evenings
None of this 'closed on monday' stuff. It is a little off the beaten path but not too too hard to find. Rue des Vollandes 38 I believe. And the menu is also in English. Hope you like it!
