Hello, we are leaving Switzerland. We were wondering what administrative things we should do regarding our car. We will sell it to a garage, but we're not sure what other things we should do apart from canceling the insurance. Your advice would be appreciated.

After you sell it just bring the plate number to the "bureau des autos". There is a letter box for this purpose. And that's it !
Just be sure the "permis de circulation" will be cancelled. You can write on it with a big black pen cancelled and then give it to the garage...
It may be a bit difficult to get the credit back (if any) from the insurance...

the garage can do all this for you... but you are never sure... depend how serious they are...

Just make sure it's signed over to the garage and no longer in your name once the sale is complete. If you contact the bureau I'm sure they'll be able to help with the process.
