Legal assistance for poorly done renovation

Hello,

We are having a house renovated and the work is extremely poor - the electrical is done improperly, the appliances are installed incorrectly, etc - basically anything that can be done wrong is done wrong.  What are the legal remedies in Geneva Switzerland for this? Anyone have similar experiences that can share - how did you solve? Did you talk to a lawyer - if so, who?  Can anyone assist?  Thanks

hi brian,

i assume you haven't paid the entire bill yet. normally you would only pay 90% until the work is completed to satisfaction. you could inform the the company that did the work that it  is not to your satisfaction and either they redo the work or you will withhold the final payment. then you will need to find another service to complete the installation.

if you seek legal representation, it will cost you more than the 10% of the unpaid amount (assuming you haven't paid the total amount  up front) .

normally, these companies have insurance to cover errors etc.

let me know how you get on, and good luck.
