Yverdon is a bit far from Geneva but it is feasible.( direct train Geneva - Morges - Yverdon)  If you don't work too far from Gare Cornavin it eases your life.

I commuted for 3 years between Lausanne and Geneva, and I was very happy when i found an appartment in Geneva. You get a life after all !!!

Yverdon is a small city, nothing very exiting but it is true that the price of appartment are very low compare to Geneva...

If you want to be outside of Geneva : Morges, Lausanne are good options and the night life is better in Lausanne than Yverdon ; )

I checked that train and it only takes 48 min to Yverdon. As I work near Cornavin, in 1h 5 min I can be home (where I live now is nearly 1h 30min).

Plus, the flat in Yverdon (110 sqm, 4.5, new) is simply UNTHINKABLE for CHF 2K in Geneva. I have 2 kids (separated father) and having an extra room to welcome my kids and a studio for my personal work (photo) is a must.

... As for bars and nightlife... I'm not much of a party beast... a little bar for a drink every once in a while will be more than enough.

Well... it seems I will live in Yverdon.

I live in a little village just down the road from you and I managed 18 months in Geneva before finding a better job elsewhere. However it's time for a change and I'm looking a jobd in Lausanne and Geneva.

Good luck with the commuting and job.

I don't know about the night life there either as I mostly go out in Lausanne.
