Lonely Christmas
Hi guys!

I happen to stay alone in Gex/Geneva during Christmas period 22-27 December... I was wondering whether there are more of such lonely-christmas people who do not go to see their families or friends because of work or any kind of other reasons ? For some Christmas is more important, for some less - but no doubt it's definetely time in the year when loneliness is not so welcomed.

Is there someone else who would like to cheer up their lonely Christmas? :)

I notice you're a friend of frankie. Give him a call and get him to go and dive in the lake with you. He'll be up for that for sure. (If he's around.)

Me and my hubby are staying in here, unfortunately. It's going to be our first Christmas without family, only the two of us. If you want to meet or do something, let me know!

Hi there,

I find myself in the same situation :( It would be great to be around others on Christmas! Let me know if you'd be up for company!

Hi loners:),

you are no more alone, I'm one of yours:P

to break our loneliness I propose you to organize a "glocal family christmas dinner". it would be a party where are invited other glocals. Everyone would bring some snack (maybe food by girls and drinks by guys), and we would enjoy all together the Christmas Eve with some  music played by the organizer.

If you find the idea interesting, let's find now the organizer.

I can't, because I'm not living yet in Geneva. But if any loner think he can organize, please do.

Great idea Justin!

There are about 6-8 people already from different countries so it would be an interesting international dinner! We could prepare some christmas specialities from our countries so we feel a bit like home ;)

Unfortunately, I cannot host this party as I live in Gex which is 30km from Geneva so the distance is the problem.. :( But perhaps there is someone who is willing to welcome a group of cheerful people?? :)

And in case nobody has such possibilities then of course we could meet in some cozy restaurant - anyway the place is not so important as the company and christmas mood! :)

For the one who stay in town, or work. i wish you a happy holiday season.

For us, we are going to be in the hut in the Jura on snowshoes.

That sounds like a really good idea. I don't have a place in Geneva either - but I'm sure someone does? Or else, who could suggest a cozy X-masy restaurant?

Hi guys,

We have a place, the only problem is that it is not fully furnished yet. We're in the process of doing it. I wouldn't mind hosting it, it should fit around 5-6 people including us. Or we can all go to the place in Paquis. Any votes?

Come join us for a fun and warm evening instead of doing it at home. No cleaning up the next day and you get to meet nice people.

Cheers,

Mike
