No sarcasm intended. Couchsurfing is a website for travellers and people who like to discover other cultures. It's based on trust, respect, generosity and curiosity/interest of each other (i.e. openminded'ness). There are groups on there, just as subgroups on glocals, where people have specific interests. Some of those groups are housesitters and petsitters. I thought this might be helpful to you, and that you could increase your search by posting your request on there too.

so i would be very interested to watch after your dog for practical reasons i will keep him in his natural environment, if you agree, at your flat because my dog is at the countryside and it is better to keep Desmond alone...specially if he is shy he will miss you and needs comfort and warmth ...For me it is practical to because i will stay here downtown and it is a good opportunity for me too... so thanks for your reply I can come and visit this week or whenever...
