Hi Maria,
I am surprised to hear that you have kittens to give away.
Did you not castrate your cat?
As you saw at SOS Chats cat shelter, a lot of kittens are abandoned every year because the owners do not castrate their cats. They let their cats out to mate, the cats have kittens, and they have no intention to keep them. Thus vicious circle - kittens are abandoned at the shelter, people love kittens because they are cute so they take them home., some true cat lovers would keep them for the rest of the life, some amateurs who just want a furry company as they feel lonely then abandon them as the cats are grown up and not as cute as before, or they have many other reasons, (wife's pregnant, they have to take a 3-week holiday etc).
SOS chats have been running the CNVR ( Capture, neuter, vacinnate and release) programme for many years in order to reduce the number of stray cats. As a responsible cat owner and a member of the society, I strongly believe that it's down to us to act responsibly - you let your cat pregnant with kittens then you should be prepared to keep the kittens, if not, castrate your cats.
I hope you understand what I mean.
Cindy
