Sadly, one of the pair of our bonded rabbits passed away a few weeks ago, and we are looking to take a new rabbit to keep company to the surviving one.
Barney is a 3.5 year old white lionhead rabbit, male, neutered. He is very friendly, docile, and healthy, and very much looking forward to making a new friend. Barney is normally very lively and positive, however since the death of his companion and brother he seems a bit sad and subdued. As rabbit are social animals, and suffer in loneliness, he needs a new friend.
Please get in touch if you're looking for a good home for your rabbit. We're ideally looking for a spayed adult female (so that they can fall in love :) which makes the bonding process easier) but would also be happy with a rabbit baby or an adult male, as long as they get on well. We will of course bond the two rabbits carefully. and ensure both their safety in the process. More info on bonding rabbits here: http://rabbit.org/faq-bonding-multiple-rabbits/
We wil certainly give the new rabbit a great home: Barney and him/her will share a large duplex cage (see pic), and every evening will have access to a 2x3m carpet for running for a few hours, as well as a sofa they can jump on. They will eat a healthy diet of 80% hay, 15% fresh veggies and greens, and 5% pellets or fruit. When the weather is nice, we will sometimes take them outside for a few hours to run around in the grass. As they will live in the living room, they can join us when we watch TV, and otherwise participate in the daily live.
To see if the rabbits like one another, we would first bring our rabbit to meet yours and see how they get along. If all does well, we hope they will develop a lasting friendship.
