Brooklyn is super nice, actually.  And some parts of Brooklyn are much closer to lower Manhattan than some parts of Manhattan by subway.   Same for Queens.  It depends on where your school is.  

Also, given that you are going in summer many of the universities rent out rooms in their dormitories once their regular students go home for the summer (usually around the end of May).   They have requirements like you are a student or an intern, etc.  You could check Cooper Union, NYU, Columbia, etc.  

Finding a decent place in NY is just as hard as finding a decent place in Geneva.  Good luck!

Brooklyn ; Is the Brooklyn is New York safe ?? I saw there are many rooms in Harlem but i dont know if it is safe ...

Actually the school have 3 sites: Empire state builing, east village , midtown.

They told me that the school is bigger in the empire so i took it to meet more people. 

Yeah its a nightmare if its like Geneva !!
