Looking for an alternative to dog kennels

Hi there,

I occasionally go out of town on business and am looking for an alternative to putting my 4-year-old Jack Russell in a kennel each time. Sometimes my trips are planned well in advance, sometimes they can be spur-of-the-moment as I am in the humanitarian sector.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably-priced dog sitter in Geneva, who is willing to take animals for overnight stays? (I can afford max CHF30 per day.) Do you happen to know of someone who would be willing to watch after an incredibly cute dog for a couple of weeks every now and then? (I'd be happy to return the favor if you're a dog owner.)

Does anyone know of a responsible young adult/university student, who is still living at home and might like to have their own place to stay from time-to-time in exchange for watching after a great animal and some pocket money?

Or does anyone know of a reputable private dog boarder in the Geneva area? A couple with a backyard or a family would be excellent. My dog gets along well with most breeds and is neutered. He's great with kids. Are you a dog lover who is too busy to own your own animal but would love to take care of one once in a while for a couple of weeks?

My main aim is to have a few people on stand-by, whom I can count on if I get called out to the field for an emergency and to know that my dog is being loved and looked after while I'm away.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions anyone might have. Please email: [email protected]

Many thanks and bon week-end!
