Looking for community bloggers and more, please
Dear community,

GenevaLunch is the Lake Geneva region’s new English-language community news & information web site. Please check it out – we want your vote in our poll about the new Cailler chocolate bars! The Friday interviews will tell you more about people and companies and services in your region. We’re starting to build the richest list of events and resources on the web for you: watch it grow daily. And we want as many voices as possible from the community, in the form of news-related blogs and guides to this and that, which is where you come in.

We’re looking for your help to quickly build GenevaLunch into the liveliest, most interesting and useful resource for the entire community, from over the border to Lausanne and up to Neuchatel, from age 1 to 100!

Please note: it is a site for, by and about the community and we are starting to point people regularly to other existing resources, such as GOL and WRG, that we think are good. We cover the entire lake region, as far as Fribourg and Neuchatel and over the border in France and Italy. There are more than one million English speakers in the area, loosely linked and we want to strengthen those ties.

We’re actively seeking community-minded people to do the following as volunteers:
* Write regular blogs on a variety of topics. A few the editor would like to see: sports around the world; hanging out in Geneva and Lausanne, any other cities; movies; art exhibits; the outdoor life (individual sports like climbing, cycling); shopping on a shoestring budget; anything related to raising kids; hobbies and activities such as pottery and writing; life in my town; regional politics. You name it! Contact [email protected] with your ideas. Expected commitment: two blogs a month, more if you like.
* Add photos to the site via flickr – check out our gallery of images from the community. We want to show landscapes but also people and activities from around the region, updated constantly.
* Provide journalism reports. We need experienced journalists (no pay, but think of the glory :) ) to write about a wide variety of things. Contact [email protected].
* Write guides to a million and one subjects and keep them current. In the works, but looking for contributors: Guide to leaving home; Guide to good manners, Lake Geneva Region – with a light touch, please! Would like to see: Guide to surviving life in an international organization; Guide to becoming an international corporate manager; Guide to Finding pals and mates, Lake Geneva region.
* Help us build and maintain a super events list that covers everything in the region as long as it is open to the public or the public can easily join, from church suppers to school fairs to lectures and concerts: 2-5 hours a week, from home if you have good Internet access.

If you have news, we’re interested in that, too: [email protected].

We went live in May and have gradually ironed out the bumps. We are now ready to make a big marketing push, concentrating on a word-of-mouth campaign.

Questions? Contact [email protected]

Please join the fun!
