Hi all,
I'm looking for other guitar players out there to practice with. I'd have to emphasise the word 'practice', and not jam. Chief reason is that I'm not at 'jam session' level yet, but that's the goal. So mainly I'm looking to practice for example maybe specific songs or improvisation, or anything really because there's so much out there, but to be decided together. I'm self taught, and it's one thing to play to backing tracks with books and videos but of course it's quite another playing live with other players and exchanging ideas, which is what I'd like to do to progress. I'd class myself as an advanced beginner or just about intermediate. In addition to playing technique, I'm interested in the music theory too (e.g. the modes, intervals, scales, chord progressions & construction, timing/rhythm). I tend to need to pause and break new licks/chords/melodies down to understand it, I'm not so great at just playing by ear, but that's where the practicing comes in.
Also, the main genre I am focusing on at the moment is the blues, with a little cross over into rock and jazz too. Also, I play electric (fingerstyle or pick). Anyhow, if you're learning, are about the same level and looking for someone to practice with too, then drop me a line and maybe we can arrange some sessions.

Hi Sean,
I've been playing guitar for a long time but i have loads of friends back home who play at various levels that I love to practice with so i'd be up for meeting up. I'm also quite into blues and would love to help you improve and learn some licks and tricks off you too. Personally I'm not a huge fan of the phrase 'jam session' so i'd not invite you to meet up for one, but if you fancy hanging out some time to play a bit of guitar and while away an hour or so give me a shout - especially if you are available during the day in the week as I am one of Geneva's many 'here with a partner and haven't found a job yet' contingent!

Hi James,
Great, I'll drop you a message later on to set up something! I'm office bound weekdays though but lets try to find a convenient time maybe on the weekends or evenings.
