I have this all consuming love for my son (8 months old, pic below). When I hold him, or even look at him, these amazing feelings inside me - which I never knew I had - come up. He makes me feel so good, that it makes me want to cry...I really mean it.
I look at him, and I just want to protect him from everything that's out there, and to ensure he'll have a good life. During the day I find myself counting the minutes until I'll get home to see him...He really is my life.
My mum and I used to often joke who loves each other more: my mum loves me more than I love my mum, or vice versa. She used to tell me that only when I had a kid, I'd know what the love of a parent to a child feels like, and how strong it. She was right, it really is all consuming.
OK, that's it for my yearly quota of emotions. Now it's back to being macho!
