About Lally:

Lally School of Management & Technology is the business school of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the oldest technological university in the U.S.  Building on RPI’s world-class facilities and leadership in science and engineering, Lally’s MBA program focuses on the strategic management of technology and creating value through innovation and entrepreneurship.

Lally’s MBA program develops technically sophisticated business leaders who will guide organizations in integrating technology for new products, new markets and new systems.  We believe that technology offers a key source of competitive advantage in today’s global economy.  Managers who understand technology, and who can manage emerging technologies and innovation, will be the creators of future competitive advantage in business.

Lally’s dedication to innovation starts with our unique curriculum.  Our cross-disciplinary, team-taught program breaks through the compartmentalized “silo” structure of corporate functions found in the traditional MBA curriculum.  Lally’s MBA program uses an experiential approach to help students develop a strategic managerial mindset.  Small classes and an international student body create a rich, interactive classroom experience, preparing students for the teamwork required in a 21st century global business environment.

Topics explored include: Business Implications of Emerging Technologies; “Lab-to-market” technology commercialization; Creating and Managing an Enterprise; Design, Manufacturing and Marketing; Computational Finance and Risk Analytics

At Lally students have the chance to combine course work from other schools into the program or even earn a minor in one of Rensselaer’s other schools.

Lally offers students hands-on experience through on-campus and area resources such as the Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship, the RPI Incubator (the first on-campus business incubator in the U.S.), and Rensselaer Technology Park.
