Hello all, I am hoping someone can share some tips on replacing a Macbook Pro battery replacement. The indicator say "not charging" and the charger gets really hot. I stopped using my Macbook months ago and now really want to get the issue resolved so I can use it again. It is no longer under warranty, I have no idea of costs, or if I can order the battery and replace it myself. Any advice at all would be appreciated. Fingers firmly crossed. Thank you in advance.

Try removing the battery. Then plugin the power cable directly into the laptop without the battery. After the laptop powers on, with the power cable still connected, insert the battery back in and it should begin charging again. Good luck

Thanks for the reply. I have a unibody model so that is a bit tricky. Wanting to be brave and have a go but might leave it to the professionals.
